BE A FARMER FOR A DAY AT COLLINGWOOD CHILDREN’S FARM
Tuesday 2nd and 9th, Thursday 4th and 11th July

Like the Young Farmers, kids get to help with the cows, ride the horses, help with the guinea pigs, gardening, maintenance around the farm, plus feeding and looking after the animals. This one-day program is similar to the Young Farmers Program, but it is open to everyone between the ages of 10-16 years. Limited to 12 children a day, it means everyone can have a go and try their hand at jobs they are interested in.

In the afternoon we’ll be expanding on some of the characters we developed throughout the morning and crafting grass roots stories during our mini-writers residency in the farm cottage.
Come for a leisurely stroll or a picnic in the paddock and watch the farm community at work. Your entry fees support the Farm to look after our animals and run community programs.

These winter school holidays, Melbourne Star Observation Wheel will host an array of fun and free activities including free flights for kids, a Spy in the Sky challengeand a special celebration with Melbie Bear on Wednesday, July 10 for Teddy Bear Picnic Day.
TEDDY BEAR PICNIC DAY -Hosted by Melbie Bear, The Star’s big-hearted mascot, the Teddy Bear Picnic Day celebrations will include free kids’ activities delivered by Kelly Sports on Melbourne Star’s piazza and a cupcake for every child that joins in the fun.

SPY IN THE SKY + KIDS FLY FREE – Every day from June 29 to July 14, 2019 Melbourne Star will keep the kids entertained and parents happy by offering FREE flights for children* and an engaging Spy in the Sky challenge. SCHOOL HOLIDAY ACTIVITIES AT THE FARM ON THE MORNINGTON PENINSULA
Green Olive at Red Hill encourages kids to enjoy and learn from the surroundings of a real working farm on the Mornington Peninsula. Our Farm Kids school holiday programs give children the opportunity to meet farm animals, learn about where food comes from, plant seeds and create their artistic impressions of the farm while spending time outside in the fresh air and sunshine.

Monday 1st July 2019 – Pizza Making Fun
Roll your own pizza base, then you choose the toppings to create your own yummy pizza. Choose all your favourite ingredients, including herbs and goodies from the garden! The chefs will cook your pizza for you to enjoy.
This activity is $12 per child and payment is taken at the cash register on the day.

Tuesday 2nd July 2019 – Meet the Animals
A farm tour for children is one of the most popular events on our school holiday programs calendar. Feed the chooks and ducks, collect the eggs, pat Gracie the pony and chat with Pisa our friendly Maremma sheepdog. Don’t forget your gumboots!

Wednesday 3rd July 2019 – Kids Cupcake Decorating
Cupcakes and decorations are provided for all participants of our kids’ cupcake classes.
Once you have finished decorating your cake, enjoy a cup of hot chocolate while eating your deliciously decorated creation. You can then enjoy a run in the fresh farm air or a jump on the trampoline.
Kids’ cupcake classes cost $12 per child and payment is taken at the cash register on the day.

Thursday 4th July 2019 – Kids Chicken Workshop
Kids visit and feed their Isa brown chooks, they collect the eggs which will be turned into mini farm animal pancakes by our talented chefs. While the chefs are flipping pancakes the kids will use their empty egg shells to create an egghead with cress hair and funny faces. They will be able to take their egghead home to watch the seeds grow into a sweeping green head of cress. Take a photo and let us know how your hair is growing. Post your photos on Facebook and tag Green Olive at Red Hill.
